The Definition and the Translation.

Marketing. Definition of marketing is: the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising.

As a designer, I partner with small businesses to find out more about their company and see how I can, not only provide the necessary graphic solutions that will have visual impact to the target market audience for their product or service, but partner with them to coordinate the tools and venues to get their message out.

Since many small business people are wearing many hats on their business side, they often do not have a point person to handle their marketing details. So over the years, I have expanded on my ability to present marketing solutions directly to the client, to include offering my services to be their marketing arm extension. This has been a great bridge between being objective from the outside, as well as an advocate from the perspective of inside the company.
