Author Tekoa Manning stays engaged with her readers through social media. She has a Facebook page for each book she has written. As we establish her brand we are carrying a similar look across all pages. This updates her social media presence and sets us up for future promotion of her works.

To start community outreach, whether it is to arrange book signings at libraries, or to introduce herself to other ministry groups, Tekoa needed a low budget way to send out press releases and other correspondence. I created a basic letterhead template in Microsoft Word, which is the primary application she works in, so it would be very convenient to open the digital file and enter her custom communication and print out finished letter herself. We also decided that we would only make kits as we needed them and they needed to be produced from a home printer, so for printing efficiency, I put PR Folder cover label and inside Business card sticker on 8.5 x 11 format so it was an efficient use of adhesive paper output.

What started out as a partnership with a friend, (who had experience in PR and copywriting and a great person to overlap her skills with mine) to support an acquaintance and her husband kickstart them with a roadmap moving forward to promote her books, turned into a kindred friendship and mission that continues today. This was an informal proposal to outline what skills we wanted to donate to their mission to get them started. The books she writes are part of her ministry that we wanted to sow seeds into.
While I have designed the logo and have updated branding on their social media pages and blog pages, we have also updated their trifold brochure and are putting together some other elements of photography and marketing materials like banner, press release kits, book mark cards, etc. While the author is editing her blog posts and updating her manuscripts, I am ready to enter the next phase of promotion for the release of her seventh book being published soon which will include some book signing events, and outreach to some mission facilities.

A promotional piece for one of Tekoa’s titles, “Walter the Homeless Man” is a book mark card. I did the photography of one of her printed copies to use on the card.

A trifold brochure overview of the author Tekoa and her book titles to date was designed to further introduce her brand as well as include in press kits. They will also be available for handout at any book signings or speaking events.
