Have you lost a job or become under employed during this difficult time? Have you updated your resume content qualifications, and crafted the words to represent you to employers in the best possible light? While that is very important, how do the words look on the page? Is it a visually boring document? Or does it have some element that is eye catching that will appeal to an employer? If you want the competitive edge, you need to be extra polished.

As I went back into the professional world after 12 years as a stay at home mom, I saw that not only had my professional field changed alot, but so had the process of marketing oneself for employment. With social media and the internet playing a vital role. Finding a way to set yourself apart and give yourself an edge and get noticed by your potential employer is more challenging. Especially if you send your resume to a blind email address and your employment contact is not readily known. I saw some really great infographic resumes and thought this would be a great way to get noticed. As a graphic design professional, I thought what a great way to help others get noticed too. As I know this is not appropriate for all fields of application, a professional corporate resume can be more than a boring document file. It can have some design applied to it, especially if you desire to keep resume to one page.
